Lawrence Pretto grew up in Great Neck, New York and spent his college years at the University of Albany where he received his BA in Marketing & Business Administration and met his future wife Sheri. While at Albany, Lawrence discovered his innate talent for sales by leveraging his outgoing and likable personality in selling discount card programs for Student Advantage. Always one to donate his time to others in need, Lawrence has been an active member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association for the past five years.
Lawrence began his career as an Executive Recruiter at Dynamics Associates, a financial services executive search firm. At the height of the Internet boom in 1999, he joined DoubleClick as a member of their sales team, where he was responsible for selling display ads and sponsorships across their online ad network. Following extensive industry training and exceeding his sales goals, he moved onto Ziff Davis Media where he took on a more strategic role as a sales manager for the East Coast. In 2002, Lawrence was hired as the second sales person for Undertone Networks, where he played a key role in introducing the new ad network to leading brands and agencies across the country.
Looking to return to his roots and concentrate on assisting individuals in achieving their career goals by leveraging his extensive network and background in the Internet Advertising industry, Lawrence joined Searchlight in 2005 as Director of Interactive Recruiting. At Searchlight, he focused on the placement of Sales and Marketing professionals in digital media while helping clients grow their businesses and achieve their recruitment needs. Recognizing the opportunity and need for a firm led by digital media industry veterans, Lawrence joined Jobdot in 2007 as the Company's first Senior Talent Specialist.
